According to PMD during the July, August & September (JAS) season, most parts of the country experienced above-normal rainfall, while Gilgit-Baltistan recorded below-normal rainfall. Since the onset of the monsoon in the last week of June, approximately ten rainfall spells have been observed. Isolated heavy downpours led to severe urban and flash flooding, particularly affecting the northern, eastern and southern regions of the country.
